About this Event
Join Little Forks Conservancy on May 21st from 9am-12pm, to help us clear the trails and maintain tree plantings at the Averill Preserve!
What we’ll be doing:
Volunteers will help us to maintain and clear hiking trails at this preserve. Participants will walk the trails and use tools like loppers and handsaws to clear vegetation and branches. Additionally, volunteers will help to protect existing tree plantings along Averill Creek by maintaining and re-assembling tree protection tubing.
Those under 15 must have a parent present or a chaperone. This event is recommended for ages 10 and up.
What to bring:
Gloves, water, safety glasses, and loppers and/or handsaws. We will be working outside, so please dress accordingly for the event and weather. Closed toed shoes are required and long pants are recommended. Little Forks Conservancy will provide trail tools and safety glasses to those who need them.
Location, Directions, and Time:
The Averill Preserve is located in Sanford. We will meet on the western side of the preserve at the trail access off of Wackerly Rd. Directions on Google Maps are available here at: https://maps.app.goo.gl/y5RTpZS47ieeQCoD9. Staff will be there to greet volunteers.
