Learn the basics of safe home canning in this hands-on USU Extension "Preserve It!" class! Participants will be introduced to water bath canning techniques, essential equipment, food safety guidelines, and best practices for preserving high-acid foods. The class will focus on canning tomatoes and salsa, including tips for preparing, processing, and storing your harvest with confidence. We'll discuss the importance of following scientifically tested recipes and where to find trusted resources. And best of all, we'll roll up our sleeves, put on our aprons, and do some water bath canning during the class! Perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a refresher before canning season!
