The Performing Arts Center welcomes New Orleans jazz legends, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, on Saturday, December 6 at 8 p.m. Originally founded by New Orleans tuba player Allan Jaffre in the early 1960s, Preservation Hall Jazz Band has performed with award-winning jazz musicians for more than 60 years. In 2006, the band was awarded the National Medal of Arts, the nation’s highest honor for artistic excellence. Celebrate the season as the Preservation Hall Jazz Band returns with its Creole Christmas concert, full of New Orleans classics and beloved holiday selections with a twist.
