Back by popular demand, Dr Roger Wilkinson AM will speak about his great aunt who was an early female medical graduate from Melbourne University, the sister of his great uncle John about whom he has chatted. She spent some time in Melbourne but the bulk of her life was as a medical missionary in southern China 1909 -1920 before returning to England with her missionary minister husband and children. She died in England in 1936.

Dr Roger Wilkinson AM is a retired cardiologist. He was, on retirement, the Senior VMO Cardiologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He had an extensive private practice centred mainly at St Andrews War Memorial Hospital, Spring Hill and had with Drs Pritchard , Gardner, and Stafford, established there the first private cardiovascular unit in Queensland in 1983. He has also served with the National Heart Foundation of Australia on both its state and national boards. He was awarded his AM for services to Cardiology in 2019.
