What does it mean to reimagine monuments and memorials in our city? Shaping Legacy: San Francisco’s Monuments and Memorials is a multi-year initiative of the San Francisco Arts Commission (SFAC) that critically examines the Civic Art Collection while engaging artists and communities historically excluded from the commemorative landscape.✨ Join artists Ambrose Trataris, Sophia Tupuola and Tricia Rainwater as they share artworks, inspirations and works in progress. A panel discussion will follow, moderated by Angela Carrier, Senior Program Manager at SFAC.
🎨 About the Artists

Sophia Tupuola – A first-generation Sāmoan-American whose art and organizing work confront systemic inequity and co-creates spaces for shared decision-making power.
