About this Event

The Presbyterian Historical Society, the national archives of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), invites you to a special program celebrating Pride Month, hosted by Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis.

Public Historian and PHS Board Member Tim Hoogland will share the story of the Reverend David Sindt, who grew up in North St. Paul and came out as an openly gay pastor in the early 1970s to organize the initial struggle to fully include and ordain LGBTQ Presbyterians in the ministry of the church.

Following the presentation, PHS Executive Director Nancy Taylor will moderate a panel discussion of people who lived through this struggle. Questions and comments from the audience will be welcomed.
