EVENT DESCRIPTION -
Dive into the art of making your project pitch-perfect for funders with our pre-development fund preparation workshop. Over two immersive days, you'll work closely with a story consultant to transform your initial idea into a compelling narrative, setting the stage for a successful pitch. By the workshop's conclusion, you'll have crafted an outline for a proposal aimed at securing support from the Yukon Pre-Development Fund. We're inviting applications for this exclusive opportunity, open to a small group of participants, with both documentary and scripted projects welcome.
To participate, we ask that everyone comes prepared with a project idea—ranging from a brief one-paragraph overview to a detailed one-page pitch, ready for review by March 18th. This introductory course is tailor-made for those seeking practical advice on how to present their projects effectively. You'll gain insights into navigating film marketplaces, crafting essential marketing materials like one-sheets, look-books, and show bibles, and honing your pitch to capture the attention of funders. It's a comprehensive guide to focusing your efforts and energy on what truly matters in selling your project—and yourself—to the industry.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTORS -
Eric Lapointe
Eric Y. Lapointe is the founder of Vancouver’s And Now Global, a company specializing in TV/Digital distribution, and development consulting. With over 15 years of industry experience, including roles at major brands Just For Laughs and Cirque du Soleil, Lapointe’s international expertise is the cornerstone of the business.
Lapointe’s roster of respected clients, past and present, include Global Mechanic Media, Trembling Void Studios, Icarus Capital/Yuk Yuk’s Media, GoQuest Media, and Sawahn Inc. Since founding And Now Global in 2018, he has been an active participant in global content conferences and festivals, including MIPCOM, Hong Kong FilmArt, ATF Singapore, Kidscreen, and RAPPA Seoul.
Lapointe’s diverse experience, spanning content sales, global conference participation, strategic consulting, and new media, converges into a rich tapestry that weaves together distribution and development to better support and mentor his clients.
Dawn Brett
Dawn Brett-Hauschild is a writer/producer who specializes in documentary film, unscripted television, and digital media. She has written, produced, co-directed, story edited, and story consulted on programming for a variety of broadcasters, including HBO Canada, Paramount+ Canada, CBC, CTV, Global Television, W Network/HGTV, Knowledge Network, VICE Media, the National Film Board of Canada, and the Danish Broadcasting Company, among others. Whether story consulting for an Academy Award-nominated producer or mentoring emerging artists, Dawn has earned a reputation for non-fiction storytelling by creating compelling narratives grounded in quality research, character development and story structure.
