About this Event

Preparation for Birth & Beyond - 5 week course

A 5-week antenatal course delivered jointly by Health Visitors, Family Hub Workers, Midwives and Infant Feeding Peer Support Workers.

It is aimed at first time expectant parents who are between 28 and 34 weeks pregnant. The course covers a wide range of topics to prepare you for the arrival of your baby

All Dads and partners are invited to attend.

Come and meet other parents and find out about:

  • what your baby needs during pregnancy and beyond
  • becoming a parent, and what it means in practice.
  • local support available to you
  • labour and birth
  • caring for yourselves and your baby
  • feeding your baby

Please attend all session dates as follows:

  • 2 6th April 2024, 10am
  • 3 rd May 2024, 10am
  • 1 0th May 2024, 10am
  • 1 7th May 2024, 10am
  • 2 4th May 2024, 10am

Please book 1 ticket per household

This session will be delivered via Zoom – please ensure that you have downloaded the app. Joining instructions and further information will be sent via email 2 hours before the start of each session.

  • I understand the zoom ID and password received to access this group is for use by me & my 2nd attendee only and is not to be passed to anyone other than the 2nd attendee. All attendees must sign up to join the session through Eventbrite.
  • A log of attendees who have booked onto the session will be kept and anyone found to be logging into a session without having booked on, will not be admitted by the host.
  • Please ensure that you log in using your full name.
  • Attendance of sessions should take place in a suitable room in your home.
  • Please respect the confidentiality of other families on this Sheffield City Council Zoom session, who will also be able to see and hear you. Please do not record the session or take photographs of the zoom screen. Screenshots are not allowed. This is for the safety of your family and others who are accessing the online group.
  • Any safeguarding matter that may arise during a session will be followed up.
  • Please be aware that some groups are run from the home environment of Sheffield City Council employees and use home internet connections. In the event that a poor internet connection disrupts the running of the group, we will look at rescheduling the session and ask for your understanding in this.
