About this Event
The core mission of Opus X is rooted in philosophy. Philosophy is one of the essential ways through which we understand the relationship between human beings and art, and between one’s life and one’s values. Beneath these seemingly different intellectual strands runs a shared question: how should one live in order to lead a truly good and fulfilling life?
Art is one response to that question. Opus X is a long-term cultural and educational mission, using philosophy as its foundation and art as its response, connecting future generations of artists and audiences. Through concerts, short-term intensive courses, artist retreats, a magazine, festivals, and educational video content, we aim to inspire our audiences to discover the meaning of music for themselves.
“Prelude” is intended as an introduction to some of the greatest masterworks of classical music. In this concert, we will take you on a journey from the Baroque era to the 20th century, beginning with J.S. Bach and ending with Argentinian tango composer Astor Piazzolla. A catered wine and cheese reception will follow the concert, providing a relaxed and comfortable environment to discuss the music and speak with the performers.
