About this Event
The Prefect Associate Certification Course (PACC) is an immersive training where you will learn how to build data workflows you can trust with Prefect.
This is a two-day course. You must attend both days to receive your certification.
In this introductory guided experience you will learn how to use Prefect from Prefect employees.
Outcomes
You will leave the course with the skills to make your workflows resilent and scalable.
You'll learn how to
- schedule workflows
- use automatic retries
- customize logging
- get notified when workflows fail
- gain insights and take actions in the UI
- run workflows only when needed with caching
- declare, manage, and resolve incidents
- create interactive workflows that can pause for human input
- build event-driven workflows
With successful completion of the course you will receive the Prefect Associate Certification digital badge.
Who is this course for?
This course is appropriate for data engineers, software engineers, data platform engineers, analytics engineers, machine learning engineers, MLOps engineers, and data scientists who know at least Python basics.
Course requirements
A computer with Zoom and Slack, where you can install Python packages and fetch data from the internet is required. Participants are expected to participate for the full time with their cameras on.
Schedule
This is a two-day course from 12pm ET - 3pm ET, both days. You must attend both days to receive your certification.
The course Zoom link and Slack instructions will be sent via email prior to the start of the course.

Course Structure
The course is designed to be a supportive, hands-on experience to foster collaboration and creativity.
The course is broken down into six modules with the following structure:
- Discussion and instruction: 15-30 minutes to introduce the module's core concepts
- Lab: Hands-on-keyboard activities to reinforce core concepts
Prefect employees will be on hand to answer questions during labs.
