How do two neighbouring societies come to see their common history through such different eyes, and what sustains that estrangement today? This dialogue between Dr. Michal Vašečka and Dr. István Kollai examines the political, cultural, and educational mechanisms that have shaped Slovak-Hungarian relations over time, from the narratives embedded in school curricula to the single-nation stories told by monuments, castles, and commemorative sites. The conversation will also look beyond the sources of division, asking what a more constructive relationship between the two societies might require, and what role younger generations have to play in it.📍 Location: Ground-floor lecture hall V-VI, Building C, Budapest Corvinus University
