About this Event

ARCH Teesside Pre-Trial Therapy Training.

There can be many confusing messages when it comes to how to support people who are part of ongoing criminal justice processes. Survivors are often denied or delayed access to vital specialist support due to uncertainty around Pre-Trial Therapy guidance.

Gain confidence in pre-trial therapy guidelines and learn practical skills in providing a pre-trial response in line with best practice.


ARCH Pre-Trial Therapy Training is based on years of experience of developing and implementing a local protocol, new evidence-based research and key principles from the CPS Pre-Trial Therapy Guidance.


This session will cover:

•Overview of the Criminal Justice System

• CPS Pre-Trial Therapy Guidance

• Defining Pre-Trial therapy

• Contracting

• Note keeping

• Dealing with disclosures

• Responding to note requests.


Who is this training for?

  • This session is for anyone who may be working with survivors of sexual violence & abuse, from counsellors and therapists, but not limited to social workers, police officers, local authority teams, schools, health practitioners, safeguarding, service leads, mental health supporters and supervisors and for anyone looking to understand more about Pre-Trial Therapy and how to support people effectively .
  • Participants must be over 16 years old.


Who is delivering the training?

This session will be led by Kerri Brems, Sexual Violence Counsellor & ARCH Participation and Training Co-Ordinator.

ARCH is a specialist sexual violence service, with almost 30 years of frontline experience in supporting survivors of sexual violence and abuse.
