Past October sailings with some of the admin team have brought forth a fun Pre-Cruise Kick Off Party. Previously we have found a Hotel about a year in advance that is close to the port. We outreach to the hotel and create a block of rooms at a group rate and then post within the group so that those wishing to get the deal rate and stay at the same property as others on our sailing can.
We always check with the hotel to make sure we can host a pre-cruise meet n' greet either in a large size lobby, or we've looked into meeting rooms as well that work.
We will also look at checking out shuttle service if the hotel doesn't offer one - so that those staying at the hotel may have shuttle service too. In this instance we are trying to find details on the shuttle, however, nothing is set at this time. We have however been told that the hotel is only about a mile from the port and that Uber rates from the hotel to port are very minimal cost.
THE PRE-CRUISE MEET N' GREET EVENT:
Historically the meet n' greets have consisted of a Pizza Party or Other type of epic vendor. 2024 was a dessert bar. 2025 is sure to be Epic as well and there will be more to come on this soon!
We have check-in giveaways and favors as well as door prizes, and kid's activities.
We have social fun activities that can land you some cool travel prizes.
The registration process will be launched soon (before Aug 1st, 2025) There will be a registration fee for the pre-cruise meet n' greet which helps to pay for the food fun on hand, supplies needed to host the event as well as some awesome prizes to give away!! Any fees taken in at the door will benefit any additional snack items we may need to add as the party progresses and/or will be utilized by the admin team to create even more fun giveaways at onboard events for this group.
YES YOU CAN! Bring your own Adult beverages!!
We have gotten the OK from Hotel Sales Dept to bring our own Alcoholic beverages. You are welcome to do so however you are responsible for any alcohol you choose to bring as well as who you choose to share it with. We will not be providing a community beverage table for sharing alcoholic beverages.
The front desk/hotel store has soda or you can bring your own.
We will also have a 50/50 to help benefit the Cruise Hoppers Contest and Events we host for everyone and to cover any event expenses we may incur to bring fun to the party!
If you'd like to see about the room block so you can stay right at la quinta under our discounted room block, here are the details:
1. You can call hotel direct at 409-220-3600 and give them the code 102425CRU and tell them you're part of the cruise hoppers facebook group and want to ask about availability on our room block. We currently only have 35 rooms reserved, first come first served. Not sure if were adding more, so don't wait.

The room rate is for Double Queen Rooms at $169 per night. You can book a couple days before check in or just the night before cruise day (check in fri 10/24, check out sat 10/25 "Cruise Day")
AGAIN REMEMBER TRANSPORTATION TO THE PORT WOULD BE UBER AT YOUR COST (we will let you know if we can secure shuttle service, we'll have more updates on cost for this service TBD).
