Join us early in Chattanooga for a pre-conference workshop led by Chris Winters (ISA BCMA, Chattanooga Tree Project) and Benjamin Moore (ISA CA, Scenic City Arborists) at Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center.This in-depth workshop will explore the science and practice of branch end weight reduction pruning on mature trees through classroom instruction and field demonstration. Instruction will cover scientific applications and reasoning behind this practice, including decision making for health and aesthetics, branch attachments, the physics of lever arms, and pruning cut diameters. The field demonstration will include a walk though of methodologies, including climbing techniques for reaching branch ends, ergonomics, and decision making in the moment.
