DESCRIPTION: Understanding the human figure is a fundamental skill for visual artists whether you are planning to pursue animation, illustration, fine art, photography or any other visual artform in college.

This series will focus on drawing from a live clothed model. Students will tackle figurative forms through careful observation and innovative drawing techniques. This in-depth exploration of the human form will stress anatomical structure, proportion, foreshortening, value and line quality. You will develop your expressive mark-making and strengthen your compositional design with the degree of representation ranging from detailed, anatomically correct renderings to loose and expressive sketches.

Please note: This series features clothed models. If you prefer nude models, please view the Figure Drawing series starting November 5, 2022.

Supplies will be provided.

OPTIONAL SUPPLIES :

  • Sketchbook
  • Colored pencils or other dry colored drawing materials
