How do we invite children into meaningful prayer practices that shape their faith both in worship and in the world?
Join us for a Prayerful Practices for Children Workshop hosted by the Children’s Ministry Network and The Cultivate Grant. This workshop will be held from 10am-2pm on September 4th at University City UMC. We are thrilled to welcome The Rev. Traci Smith, pastor, parent, and author of Faithful Families, as our guest leader. Traci is the Program Director of Family Faith Every Day, a ministry of Chalice Media focused on equipping families to grow in love through daily faith practices across generations.
Her work is rooted in the belief that “faith is learned when it is woven seamlessly through the fabric of everyday life”—a principle that guides both her writing and workshops. Traci brings a wealth of experience as a keynote speaker, coach, and faith-at-home expert, and she’ll help us explore prayer in ways that are both practical and spiritually rich.
This interactive workshop will include:
Hands-on experiences with prayer practices
Table conversations with peers in ministry
Thoughtful reflections on praying with children in today’s world
Resources you can immediately take back to your church or home
This event is open to pastors, children’s ministry staff and volunteers, parents, and anyone passionate about nurturing faith in the next generation.
But that is not all! We will have a special time for Q&A with Traci Smith from 5:30pm-8pm that evening. This will also take place at University City UMC in Charlotte. This evening event is for those who can't make the day portion or who have used Faithful Families and want to talk with Traci more on practical applications for her work. We will have dinner, time to ask questions, and hear more from Traci.
