Pranayam & Voice Activation with Si MullumbyThis event is about harnessing the power of the breath to invigorate our voices, our lives and to enliven our inner terrain & imagination.
This is a collective, non-confrontational space of a shared experience. It is perfectly suited to shy people. In fact, shyness is the principal asset for the depth of this experience. So please if you are shy, you are needed!
There will be seated sections, interspersed with some gentle movement practices to create and foster ease in the body.
This will be a two-part workshop.
*****After the event if it is a beautiful day we will head down to South Beach for Sunset*****
Part One
The first part is about harnessing the power of the breath. About creating ease in our systems. Not the kind of ease that makes you nod off. This is about a vibrant state of chilled-ness. Activating the para-sympathetic nervous system & cultivating the raw material of the voice.
Si teaches his unique form of Pranayama, control of the breath, that he has developed over the thirty plus years of being single pointedly dedicated to didgeridoo playing, Australia's breath instrument.
This is not a 'learn to play didgeridoo' workshop, however participants can experience the consciousness altering aspects of what players feel when they play.
Part Two
The second part is about allowing our voices naturally to open into the delightfully resonant hall.
We will explore how we open together as a group and find the resonances that feel good to us.
In these deep times it’s easy to become shallow and live on the surface. This is about bringing the love into the depths of our beings and creating nurture for all aspects of who we are in a space that is safe, warm and held.
The Location
The location is the Hall out the back of St Paul’s in Beaconsfield. It is an old wooden hall with a brilliant natural reverb.
