About this Event
In Kundalini Yoga, we begin with an opening mantra to center ourselves and turn our attention toward the Divine. We then move through gentle warm-up exercises before entering the main practice. After the kriya, we shift into deep relaxation accompanied by music and the soothing vibration of the crystal bowl. This restorative rest allows the work we have done to be integrated into the body and nervous system. From that place of stillness, we then move into meditation.
This month we are focusing on Nabhi Kriya. “Nabhi” refers to the nerve plexus around the navel point — what Christian language might call the “inner man.” This set develops strength at the navel center and supports a sense of personal power and stability. It also tones the abdominal area efficiently, using seven movements practiced over about 30 minutes that warm and energize the entire body.
Our meditation will be Kirtan Kriya. This meditation combines mantra (“Sa Ta Na Ma”), specific finger movements (mudras), breath, and focused awareness. It has been widely studied for its potential benefits for brain health, stress reduction, emotional balance, and memory support. Many practitioners report improved clarity, deeper calm, better sleep, and greater emotional resilience. It is a short but powerful 12-minute practice that supports mental and spiritual well-being.
