About this Event
Practical Volunteering Day - Bracken Bashing
Join the Countryside Ranger Service for this hands-on conservation event on Elrick Hill. This important habitat is home to a diverse array of wildlife and your help is needed to protect and enhance the hill's ecosystems. Our activities will focus on:
- Bracken control: bash the encroaching fern to stunt its growth and promote the spread of native ground flora on the hill.
- Heathland Expansion: Assist in vital efforts to restore and extend the site's heathland, promoting biodiversity and supporting lowland heath habitats.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about our ecosystems, meet like-minded people and make a tangible impact on preserving Elrick Hill's natural beauty.
