This practical two day course will cover the basics in paediatric GI motility investigations, as well as touching on the more advanced and state of the art procedures.
Target audience
The course is aimed at all clinicians wanting to expand their knowledge around motility investigations, and become competent in carrying these investigations out in their own centres.
Programme outline
The first day will be dedicated to pH impedance including short lectures, demonstrations, and hands on interactive learning opportunities on study set up, equipment calibration, troubleshooting, analysis and reporting. We will also discuss the links between pH impedance studies and manometries as well as touching on other upper GI testing.
The second day will cover oesophageal and anorectal manometry as well as electrogastrograms and EndoFLIP (including topography). The day will include short lectures covering the theory as well as demonstrations and hands on interactive sessions on set up, practical tips, analysis and reporting.
Participants can choose to attend one or both days.
