Join us for a fun and informative Practical Maintenance Training!
Islington Council have teamed up with Groundwork London to bring you Islington Greener Together Champions. The IGT Champions programme is a voluntary programme that will focus on training and development for individuals who are passionate about greening their area. It will tap into the enthusiasm of Islington residents to plant and maintain new green space, find new opportunities for greening, act on climate change and transform neighbourhoods.
Overview of Session:
- Welcome and Introduction best practice
- Conducting a sample tools safety talk and identifying tools together
- Understanding how to approach risk assessments
- Demonstrating how to conduct seasonal maintenance tasks in a safe manner

Event Highlights:
- Gain confidence in gardening skills: Build confidence in gardening abilities through practical application, where you will be empowered to tackle maintenance tasks with ease.
- Learn new skills: Safely use essential gardening tools and equipment, along with proper cleaning and maintenance techniques.
- Networking and Collaboration: Connect with like-minded individuals and other greening enthusiasts. Build valuable connections and explore collaboration opportunities for greening Islington.
