About this Event
The Palisades Hub Cap Centre presents two super talented bands on one awesome bill. The ever frenetic and diversely talented Prabir Trio will join us from Richmond, VA; The Yachstmen hail from the port of DC.
combines an Indian immigrant and American upbringing by blending elements of Indian music into hook-laden rock n' roll fortified by lush harmonies. Influenced by alt-rock, classic British pop, Indian rāgas, garage grooves, and frontman Prabir Mehta's relocation from India to the USA as a wide-eyed 8 year old. Uprooted from his childhood home and transplanted to Richmond, Virginia, he fell in love with the guitar-driven sounds of the FM radio. Western music helped acclimate him to western ideals. HIs songs are filled with groove laden conversational chaos, just like life. The band is comprised of Prabir Mehta on guitar and vocals, Kelli Strawbridge on drums, Jeremy Flax on bass, and Kenneka Cook on harmony vocals. ( Yes- it's a quartet, but who is counting? )
engage in a mind melding blend of hard driving rock/garage punk with manners. Expect a raucous, sometimes hilarious rock show from your Yachtsmen: John Penovitch on guitar, Ben Holmes on drums, and Mark Noone on bass.
