About this Event
*This training is eligible to earn Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System training credits.*
This training will engage participants in learning about developmental stages from infancy through 12 years. Issues we will consider: adjusting expectations for a range of "normal" behavior, how chronological age expectations can interfere with responding effectively to the developmental needs of the child, and how failing to meet the developmental needs of the child can lead to behavioral challenges in the classroom.
Objectives:
-Understand how a bell curve or "Pyramid Model" can be used to determine the range of expected behaviors within an average classroom setting.
-To identify basic developmental stages from birth through 12 years.
-To use knowledge about developmentally appropriate expectations to meet developmental needs of students rather than focus on chronological age expections.
