The Town of Bedford will host a Town Hall: Power Costs and Electric Rates on April 14 at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers (215 E Main Street, Bedford, VA 24523).Paul H. Beckhusen with American Municipal Power (AMP) will join us to provide an overview of how grid costs impact today’s and tomorrow’s electric rates and bills. Paul works with public power communities across the region and helps explain how wholesale power markets, transmission costs, and regional grid operations affect local electric systems.
This meeting will focus on the big picture of how electric rates work and the factors influencing power costs, rather than individual bills. If you have questions about your individual bill, Town staff are happy to help during regular business hours or by appointment. Please call (540) 587-6047.
