What to Expect:
This hands-on class focuses on teaching participants the skills to break down a whole chicken into its individual cuts—such as breasts, thighs, wings, and drumsticks. Ariana and Brett guide you step by step through the process, explaining key knife skills, safety tips, and the anatomy of the bird.
Participants will practice using the right tools, including boning knives, and learn how to remove the skin, trim excess fat, and properly portion the meat for cooking. You'll also get to explore different methods for utilizing every part of the chicken—whether it's using the bones for stock, the skin for crispy treats, or the meat for various recipes.
Key Takeaways:
Knife Skills: Learn the proper techniques to safely and efficiently break down a whole chicken.
Understanding the Anatomy: Get familiar with the parts of a chicken and how to separate them.
Waste Minimization: Discover how to utilize every part of the chicken for full utilization—no waste.
Recipe Ideas: The class will often include tips on using different cuts in various dishes.
Farm Share: This is a Cornish Cross meat birds Weighs around 5 lbs. Raised free range in the farm with No corn and no soy feed.
By the end of the class, you'll leave not only with the skills to cut up a chicken like a pro but also with the confidence to incorporate these techniques into your home cooking. Whether you're preparing for a week of meal prep or want to explore new recipes, learning how to break down a chicken from scratch is a valuable skill.
Why It's Worth It:
A chicken cutting class isn’t just about saving money (though that’s certainly a benefit); it’s also about gaining more control over the quality and preparation of your ingredients. When you can break down a chicken yourself, you’ll know exactly what’s going into your meals, and you'll have more flexibility in your cooking.

Plus, it’s just fun! The process is surprisingly satisfying, and it’s an essential skill for anyone interested in honing their culinary craft.
Note : This is a farm share only class. Each participant gets to take home your share of whole chicken break down into parts. APRON is a MUST for hands on cutting class. If you do not bring your own apron, we will provide one for $20 each.
