Young at Heart Festival - Wise by nature.Come along to The Pottery Studio Tauranga for a hand-building workshop designed to spark creativity and share the magic of pottery in a fun and exciting way. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to practice your skills, we've got you covered!
Our highly experienced tutor will provide a hands-on introduction to working with clay in a relaxed, enjoyable setting. You will learn how to roll, form, set, and underglaze your piece. You could make a mug, bowl, plate, or free sculpt something truly unique.

More about the Young at Heart Festival...
The Young at Heart Festival, 1- 8 October, is a week of community-led events that celebrates our older community – parents, grandparents, friends and neighbours – who do so much for the city.
The festival wraps around the official International Day of Older Persons on Wednesday, 1 October 2025.
From fitness classes to workshops, the festival includes great events to get involved with, social events to make new friends and opportunities to share skills with the next generation.
Many of the activities offer a free or discounted taster just for the festival and are regularly running throughout the year. You never know, you might discover a new activity you absolutely love.
