Ready to learn new Pottery Wheel Skills? This 4-hour pottery wheel workshop is for makers who want a larger, more intricate piece with overall better results on the wheel. Whether you’re feeling stuck in your throwing practice or simply want new exercises to sharpen your skills, this session gives you practical techniques you can apply immediately.
What You'll Learn
You’ll work hands-on at the wheel while learning repeatable drills and skill-building techniques that improve consistency, form, and confidence when throwing. You’ll explore things like:
- Using coils to throw larger, more difficult shapes
- Techniques for throwing more evenly and efficiently
- Exercises that build muscle memory at the wheel
- Practical tips to help troubleshoot common throwing challenges
What To Expect:
- Live demonstrations of core wheel-throwing techniques
- Guided practice so you can apply what you’ve learned right away.
- Small groups, so participants get individual feedback and personalized guidance to help them progress to the next stage of their pottery practice.
What to Bring:
- Clothes you don’t mind getting messy (pottery can splash a little!)
- Short nails are best for working with clay
- A drink if you’d like (21+ BYOB friendly)
- Your sense of humor and patience—wheel throwing takes practice!
Important Notes:
- For ages 18 and up
- Each participant will create a piece to fire and be glazed
- Finished pieces will be ready for pickup in about 15 business days. We’ll store your work safely for up to two weeks after completion.
- No refunds for cancellations made less than 24 hours before class (we prep materials and plan with you in mind!).
