About this Event
Discover the Art of Pottery with Potterings!
This summer, immerse yourself in the world of clay just steps from the water at Alki Beach. In our Pottering series, designed for beginners, you'll learn to craft simple yet functional ceramics while enjoying a hands-on creative experience.
Join us for a special workshop where you'll create your very own colander-style berry bowl, perfect for holding at least a pint of fresh berries. You'll explore essential pottery techniques, including slab rolling, cutting, smoothing, forming, joining, and glazing, all while working in an inspiring outdoor setting.
This one-time workshop combines the beauty of the beach with the art of hand-building pottery. With small class sizes limited to ten students, you'll receive personalized guidance and an immersive experience. Whether you come solo or bring friends, you’ll be part of a welcoming pottery community, learning and creating together.
Your finished piece will be glazed, fired in a kiln, and ready for pickup in 3-4 weeks. The instructor will notify you when it’s ready, and you’ll have 14 days to collect your handcrafted creation.
We'll be meeting at the Alki Beach covered shelter, this class will be held rain or shine. Come shape, sculpt, and create with us—experience the joy of pottery on the beach!
