Join our Potluck Prophetic Foods Iftar at Rainier Arts Center. Whether new to Islam, a convert for many years, a born muslim, or new to Seattle and seeking community, this event is open to all. Join us this Ramadan, Sunday March 02 2025, this event is free.

Doors open at 5:00 PM.

What is an Iftar?

An iftar is the meal that muslims end their fasts with at sunset during the month of Ramadan. It's a time for gratitude, community, and reflection.

Reviving a tradition from the early days of Wasat: A Ramadan potluck iftar with our community. Our earliest gatherings during our infancy were centered around community members bringing a home cooked dish. This year, we focused on Prophetic Foods, encouraging community to bring a dish that would incorporate foods referenced in the Qu’ran and hadiths.
We thank our teacher @zainab_fitforallah for the inspiration, guidance and education on all the benefits, not only for our physical health, but our spiritual health as well, as it was a great way to draw nearer to our Creator by celebrating his creation and following the example of the best of creation.
