About this Event
POTLUCK: BLACK LOVE IS…
Potluck is Thee Color Block’s signature community gathering where performance and conversation meet. Centered on the theme Black Love Is, this evening invites us to explore love as a lived, evolving practice within Black culture.
Black love as care and protection.
Black love as softness, joy, resistance, patience, devotion, and truth.
Black love as something we inherit, question, practice, and redefine.
The night begins with short performances responding to the theme. These offerings help set the tone and open the room. From there, we move into a facilitated group discussion where artists and audience members are invited to reflect together.
We’ll sit with questions like:
- What has Black love looked like in our lives?
- Where has it held us, challenged us, or healed us?
- How do we practice Black love now with ourselves, our people, and our communities?
You do not need to perform to attend. Participation in the discussion is always optional. You are welcome to share, respond, or simply listen and be present.
Potluck is about care, nuance, and collective reflection.
Come as you are and join us in exploring what Black love is, was, and is becoming.
