Being a PGR Rep can be very rewarding as you work with your fellow students to raise their issues, support communication networks, and make sure everyone knows about events and opportunities. Whether you're just starting as a rep, have been doing it for some time, or have thought about doing it in the future, this session will help you look at the responsibilities and opportunities attached to the role.
Being a Rep will give you an excellent insight into the processes and policies of the University and how to ensure the PGR Student Voice has an impact. You will meet other Reps from every Faculty on the Super Rep Group, and work with academics on the Faculty Research Degree Committee.
In this session, we will explore the ways in which you can make sure PGR student issues and ideas are heard, and highlight the main University support services that are available. How to gather feedback and make your point in meetings will be discussed, and we will look at the range of transferable skills you can pick up in this role. Every year, things change for the better because of student feedback, so this is an opportunity to make a difference.
This workshop is for current University of Portsmouth Postgraduate Research Students.
