IN THE 90 MINUTE WORKSHOP WE WILL COVER:
- Cover a brief history of poster making including a bit on how the process of posting up hand-drawn public notices can be traced back to 1477.
- Playfully explore different collage materials the participants can choose from.
- Learn how to make a typography-led poster, an image-led poster, and then combine the two styles together.
MATERIALS PROVIDED
Paper, glue, scissors, printed sheets of letters, magazines, newspapers and coloured paper.
OUTCOMES
- Posters!
- Deeper understanding and skills in composition, colour and layout.
Structure:
STEP 1
An introduction to poster-making; walking participants through different techniques developed over time.
STEP 2
Three activities; quick collage led poster, quick type led poster and then combining these two methods together to create one final poster.
STEP 3
Ending the session; reflecting on the process. Talking about how participants found it and what they will plan to do with their posters. See more on previous workshops by clicking here.
