Dakota Ave., Sioux Falls 57104 on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 6:30 - 7:30 PM CT for a postcard writing event to combat the potential federal funding cuts. Postcards and stamps will be provided. • South Dakota stands to lose over $18 million from our schools in the coming weeks.
• The FY 26 education budget will be debated soon. The House version cuts $12 billion from public schools nationwide. It includes a 27% cut in Title I funding.
• For South Dakota, this could mean a loss of over $18 million cut from our schools.
• The proposed Senate version of the bill preserves the funding.
