The 2024 Positive Youth Development Institute One-Day Summit provides opportunity for professionals in the youth development field to: enhance their skills in building intentional relationships with young people, and, acquire practical tools and strategies to effectively engage with youth in authentic and meaningful ways, leading to better outcomes for both the youth they serve and their own professional growth. Emphasis is placed on the significance of intentional relationship-building and programming to support the overall development and well-being of young individuals.

Belonging, Relationships and Structure
This series highlights the importance of belonging, now more than ever. Participants are invited to reimagine what belonging could look like for their learning environments, to learn about the role of identity and culture in building belonging, and to plan for the year ahead in concrete ways.
Reimagining Belonging
Participants will be able to…
- Reflect on what it feels like to belong and identify the key ingredients of belonging
- Reimagine what belonging could look like in schools/programs
- Evaluate opportunities to build belonging in their school/program
Connection and Reconnection: Structure, Agreements, and Rituals
Participants will be able to…
- Understand the components of learning environments that promote belonging
- Name how structure, rituals and agreements create consistency without rigidity
- Develop structural elements to build belonging in their learning environment
Relationships and Identity
Participants will be able to…
- Model conversations about identity and self through the lens of Clover: understand the
- importance of those conversations in the learning process
- Understand how the cultures of educators and youth foster and maintain a community
- of belonging
- Design a plan to promote community and collaboration amongst youth
