For horse owners who want a different way.
The Positive Bit Free Horse Group is being created for horse owners who believe training and riding can be done differently, without bits, without whips, without escalation of pressure, and always with welfare as the priority.
This launch event is an opportunity to explore what reward-based, positive reinforcement training really looks like, both on the ground and ridden, and how it fits within a strong welfare framework guided by the 5 Domains model.
This evening will explore:
• What reward-based horse training means in practice
• Communicating clearly without force or pressure escalation
• Training ridden horses ethically and effectively
• Applying the 5 Domains framework to everyday handling and riding
• The skills owners need to develop confidence and clarity
• Ideas for future discussions, training sessions and community support
This is not about criticising individuals.
It is about reshaping the culture around how we train and communicate with horses.
Whether you are:
- Curious about bit-free training
- Already using positive reinforcement
- Questioning traditional approaches
- Or simply wanting your horse’s welfare to lead every decision
You are welcome.
The evening will include guided discussion, practical insight, and space to connect with other horse owners seeking a welfare-first approach.
