About this Event
Navigating the needs of someone who requires postural support to facilitate function doesn’t need to be overwhelming. The role of 24-hour positioning is now understood as a key area of intervention for postural care and highlights the link between all postures, from laying to sitting to standing.
Understanding how to use assessment outcomes to help determine priorities for product selection and set up, and providing support and education, this session aims to provide a guide to develop and integrate a 24-hour postural management plan. We will take a close look at how to break down the process from assessment to implementation of a plan to enable safe and supported positioning throughout the day.
Certificates and CPD points will be provided. Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
KEY LEARNING AREAS:
- Understand posture and the impact of postural asymmetries on function and the link between sitting, laying and standing.
- Identify key outcomes from the assessment to guide/outline product feature selection (from sleep systems to alternative seating and standing), and scope of the postural management plan.
- Apply practical strategies to support the implementation of a 24-hour postural management plan to facilitate daily life goals.
