The sea defences around Portsmouth are nearly complete. Amy Conway, Project Delivery Manager and Subject Matter Expert with Coastal Partners, will update us on the £87.5m government-funded project which started in 2015. The project is designed to provide a 1 in 500 year standard of protection by improving 8.4km of coastline barriers. At Ports Creek the old sea wall has been crushed and reused as core to the new embankment. The original topsoil from the site is being returned as the surface is landscaped and the material from vegetation clearance is being used as mulch. About 90 reptiles, mostly slow worms and common lizards, were captured before work started and are ready for return as new wildlife areas are created.Main Hall, Church of the Resurrection
