The aim of this exciting Portrait course is to give students opportunity to focus on some of the key challenges faced when painting a portrait.Each week we work from a live model will focus on a different element of portraiture.
The aim of this will be to develop your understanding and
enhance your technical skills. This will include areas such as:
- Structure and placement of features
- Understanding values in portraiture
- Dynamic angles and lighting
- Expression, feeling and further development.
Matt will demonstrate techniques and then set timed exercises. He will also give one to one advice and feedback.
The course has been designed primarily with charcoal drawing and oil painting in mind.
However if you have more comfortable in other mediums you are more than welcome to use these.
