About this Event

Please join us for an exploration of the interesting and complicated relationship between Frederick Douglass and President Abraham Lincoln. This tour is being presented as part of the Presidential Family Fun Day, which runs form 11:30 am to 3 pm. Note that the tour at 2:30 will be presented in American Sign Language with English interpretation. Below is more information about the event. We hope you'll join us for the entire event, but feel free to come just for the tour.

Celebrate Presidents’ Day and the Portrait Gallery’s newest portraits of Abraham Lincoln with tours, story times, and artmaking! All events take place in the Kogod courtyard, except for the tours, which take place on the second floor in the America’s Presidents exhibition, or on the first floor in Out of Many.

The museum is entirely wheelchair accessible. The program will include sign language interpretation, a description tour of our new tactile display of Lincoln’s hands and face, and hands-on art activities. Sighted guides will be available upon request in the lobby of the G Street entrance.
