Stephenson’s program masterfully bridges the past and present, beginning with Busoni’s lush interpretation of Bach’s Chaconne, flowing seamlessly into the sprightly brilliance of Scarlatti and then into the rich, early-romantic depth of Beethoven. Later in the recital, Stephenson introduces the audience to the vibrant sounds of the 20th and 21st centuries.
