Portland impressively put an end to 2024 last year, culminating in a sold-out concert at the Royal Circus in Brussels. But 2025 also begins promisingly for the Belgian dreampop band. There is their new single “Lay Me Down,” and on top of that they also announce a new concert series with us with a brand new live show and plenty of surprises....
Portland's story began almost a decade ago, but it was only after their victory in Studio Brussels' De Nieuwe Lichting in 2018 that Jente Pironet's musical adventure really took off. Not long after that victory, he released debut album "Your Colours Will Stain. The album was immediately praised by both press and the Belgian public. With songs like “Pouring Rain,” “Lucky Clover” and “Expectations,” Portland managed to firmly establish itself in the hearts of their fans. The second album “Departures” followed in 2023. A compelling record full of emotion and depth, carried by Jente's unique voice and irresistible waves of dreamy guitar pop. Now Portland is back with “Lay Me Down.” A song that bears the traces of a difficult period in Jente's life, but at the same time exudes his boundless zest for life. That mix of vulnerability and strength makes it a catchy ode to perseverance and positivity. With a growing audience behind him, Jente is now energetically working on the long-awaited third album.
