Beneath the city of Canberra, something has been quietly building.
Visual artist Tommy Balogh has transformed Blackbird Bar into Portals Beneath The City - a luminous sanctuary where seven original artworks, activated by light, take over the entire space. The booths. The entrance. The walls. Every corner of the venue becomes part of the exhibition. UV-reactive, immersive and unlike anything this city has seen inside a bar.
This is not just a gallery. It is not just bar nights
It's a living, interactive art experience - one that shifts and evolves across seven nights of collaborations, live performances, auctions and creative activations, each one building on the last.
