The Portage Lakes Triathlon & Duathlon takes place at the 411-acre Portage Lakes Creek State Park outside Akron, Ohio. Triathletes will be treated to swim courses in the beautiful Portage Lake. Duathletes will start off with a fast out and back run within the park. The bike courses are described as challenging with several climbs that will test your fitness but enough flat roads to recover and make up time. The final run is an out and back run that features a scenic run through the park on paved park roads.Portage Lake State Park offers a variety of outdoor recreational experiences. Boating, sailing, water skiing, swimming and fishing are amongst some of the park’s most popular activities. The Portage Lake wetlands attract waterfowl and shorebirds providing park visitors enjoyment whether hunting or observing wildlife.
