About this Event
Learn to identify exterior elements common to historic buildings and understand their repair with preservation carpenter William Wallace of Wallace Historic Restoration LLC. Through a live demonstration, Wallace will break down the steps involved in building a new period-appropriate porch and completing common exterior repairs including trim repair and cedar shingle installation.
The workshop lasts approximately 1.5 hours. The workshop will be held outside. In the event of inclement weather, the workshop will be moved inside. If inside, due to stairs required to enter the workshop space, the event is not accessible to all. Questions? Contact [email protected].
This event is one in a series of trades training workshops presented by Indiana Landmarks and South Bend TradeWorks aimed at equipping historic homeowners with DIY knowledge and contractors with in-demand skills to offer clients with historic building repair needs.
