Step into a slower rhythm and spend an afternoon shaping something both beautiful and useful. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create your own porcelain paint palette set, including a tactile mixing palette, a brush rest, and a small water pot. Each piece is made by hand, guided gently from soft clay to refined form.
Porcelain has a quiet elegance to it. Smooth, luminous, and incredibly satisfying to work with, it transforms simple tools into something that feels almost ceremonial. Whether you’re a painter, a creative dabbler, or simply drawn to the calm of making, this workshop offers a chance to slow down and reconnect with the process.
You’ll learn shaping and finishing techniques suited to porcelain, with guidance throughout, so no prior experience is needed. By the end of the session, you’ll have a cohesive set designed entirely by yourself.
Held at the beautiful Rowan Tree Gallery in Fishguard, the setting adds its own charm. A creative space filled with character, it’s the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of making, conversation, and calm, quiet focus.
Helen will then take your finished pieces to dry, fire, clear glaze and after a final firing, they will be ready to collect at a later date, transformed by the kiln into durable, functional works of art.
Come as you are, leave with something that you’ll reach for again and again!
