Come and be part of the choir that joy built!Singing in Cairns, Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, Hunter Region and Online since 2010, we are all-inclusive community choirs and we’re on a mission just to get people singing by providing a fun and funky space for people of all musical experience to make a joyful noise together. We sing a range of pop, soul and gospel songs that you'll love to sing and that our audiences will love to hear. Our secret weapon lies in the way we do things - our rehearsals are judgement-free places where you can sing in safety regardless of experience or ability.

New members from 18 upwards are welcome at any time and your first rehearsal is FREE so you can check us out without obligation.
Our members are teachers, electricians, nurses, lawyers, business owners, students, retirees and retail workers - we have quite a few mums and daughters/mums and sons/dads and daughters/sets of sisters too so it's a great way to stay connected with your family and have fun together! Some have a heap of musical experience when they come to us but the majority have little or none.
Everything about Soul Song is designed to make life easy for you. We know you're busy so there are no committees and no expectation for you to come to every single rehearsal - you just come when you feel like singing.
What's even better is that there are no auditions and you don't even have to be able to read music. We teach all the songs by ear in a fun and relaxed atmosphere and we provide you with all the lyrics you need as well as some additional resources for those who want to practice on their own during the week.
The songs we sing are generally pop songs from all eras but with some gospel, Motown and soul thrown in. We sing generally in three or four part harmony and with either professional backing tracks or a cappella (which means without instruments).
We are on a mission just to get people singing by providing a fun and funky space for people of all musical experience to sing together music that is good for the soul.
But be warned - we play as hard as we sing!

THE REHEARSAL EXPERIENCE
Soul Song Adelaide - Walkerville, directed by Brianna Teehan, rehearses on Tuesday evenings.
We start singing at 6.30pm but we are set up and ready to go from 6pm so you are welcome to come in early to say hi and get set up and settled in. Rehearsals go through until 8.30pm. We wander along to The Walkers Arms after rehearsal for a drink and some social time too.
Rehearsals are primarily about working on repertoire and building vocal technique but we try to mix things up each week to keep them interesting and we also work a lot in smaller sections to help songs progress faster.
Those who come the most often get the most out of Soul Song but there is no expectation for people to come every single week and we have lots of resources available for those who miss a week or a few to help them catch up if they want to. You'll get more information on this when you join, but these include online rehearsals, rehearsals recordings, audio learning tracks, video tutorials, sheet music, technical tutorials and more.
Your first rehearsal is FREE so you can come along and check us out without obligation. Once you sign up as a member and pay your fees, you can attend as many rehearsals a week online or in person as you want. You can pay by the term ($205 standard or $133 concession/under 30s) or on a weekly recurring subscription basis ($18 standard or $12 concession/under 30s). Concession rates apply to students, concession card holders, pensioners etc and under 30s with our #under30perks
We will give you a member pack with a lyric book and access to all the resources you need once you've signed up. Then each week you come, you just need to bring some water, a highlighter, pen or pencil, your lyric book and don’t forget your glasses!
