Poets from Poole Poetry Collective and friends invite you to hear them reading their poems in Poole Library on four Saturdays in April and May. A selection of poets will read on each day from 3 - 4pm and be happy to talk about their poetry. The dates are 11th, 18th, 25th April and 2nd May.We would love to see you for one or all of these.
You can find out more about the Poole Poetry Collective on our facebook page and, if you wish, explore joining us. We are open to anyone who wants to share the process of poetry-writing with us in a collective way.
At the library readings you may hear poems which have been published in national or international poetry journals, anthologised or shortlisted in competitions. You may hear poems that have led to invitations to appear at festivals, that have helped to fill a self-published book, that have been accompanied by paintings, or been inspired by photographs, at exhibitions we have organised. Some poems have not yet been seen or heard by the public. These are likely to be beautiful, mysterious or funny or all three.
Our friends C.W. Blackburn and AbbyGPoetree are well known in poetry circles and enhance the rich variety of our group, as does Alan Foster with many years of unshared but deep and beautiful verse.
