🕘 Please arrive: 10:15am for registration
🏊 Sessions commence: 10:30am
Swimmers don’t improve only in the water.
Join us for a practical coaching clinic linking yoga-based movement, body preparation and real pool skills with Jackie Clarke (Essential Yoga) and SWAS coach Andrew Sexton.
A practical, hands-on clinic designed to give swimming coaches skills they can immediately apply with their swimmers.
This unique day links land-based preparation and pool coaching to improve how swimmers move, train and perform in the water.
🧘‍♀️ Jackie Clarke – The Swimmer’s Body
Land-Based Session | 10:30–11:30
Theme: Move Better to Swim Better
Jackie Clarke of Essential Yoga (B Psych & Human Movement, UWA) specialises in how the body and mind support athletic performance.
Jackie isn’t teaching swimming — she’s teaching what makes swimming possible.
Her session focuses on preparing swimmers’ bodies for effective training through targeted land-based work, with a strong positive connection between yoga and swimming performance. Mobility, alignment and controlled strength allow swimmers to move more efficiently and reduce injury risk.
Key areas:
• Shoulder mobility and stability
• Core connection for efficient stroke mechanics
• Yoga-based flexibility and strength for swimmers
• Injury prevention and swimmer longevity
Swimmers often feel the difference immediately once back in the water — strong, mobile bodies create better strokes.
🏊 Andrew Sexton – From Land to Pool Coaching Application
11:30–1:00 Land-based coaching
1:00–2:30 Pool session

• Clear coaching cues that improve technique
• Getting more value from regular training for swimmers of all levels
