About this Event
Grab a cold one and catch all of the action as passionate skiers and snowboarders brave the Cascade chill of the pond skim waters and try to impress our judges with their Best Skim, Costume and Splash in hopes of winning an Ikon Pass! Whether you’re skimming or spectating, this wet and wild event is for everyone! Proceeds benefit your Crystal Mountain Volunteer Ski Patrol!

Schedule
- 9:00-10:30am Registration opens, Location: Gondola Plaza
- 12pm DJ kicks off the tunes
- 12:30pm Participants meet up, Location: Base of Quicksilver
- 1pm Pond Skim starts, Location: Quicksilver
- 3pm End of Pond Skim followed by Awards, Location: Mountain Commons Lodge
Registration: $59 in advance, $69 day of. Advance ticket sales end Friday, April 17, 2026 at 12pm. If capacity is not met, tickets will be available day of at Registration tent. Proceeds benefit the Crystal Mountain Volunteer Ski Patrol. Capacity is 100 participants. Claim your chance now by registering in advance.

The Hottest Seat at Pond Skim - Literally. Want the most legendary view of the Pond Skim while supporting the folks who keep the mountain safe? We’ve got something special this year. For a $250 donation to the Crystal Mountain Volunteer Ski Patrol, you and your crew can claim VIP Hot Tub Seating right next to the action. That’s right - watch the splashes, wipeouts and glory runs from a hot tub while everyone else is standing in the snow.
Here’s the catch: there are only 3 VIP Hot Tub spots available for the entire day. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

First come. Three tubs. One unforgettable day. Secure your VIP Hot Tub before someone else grabs it.
Skim Attire: Over-the-top yet tastefully designed costumes are highly encouraged. Wear anything you like! Get wild and crafty but keep it appropriate. Please note, costumes may not be violent or suggestive. Costumes may not promote violence or have accessories or props that could be used as a weapon.
Check-In: All competitors must check-in at Registration on the Gondola Plaza on race day between 9:00-10:30am. Those that do not check-in by 10:30am will forfeit their spot to the next on the waitlist.
Rules
- Participants must be at least age 21 or older and will be required to present a valid ID at registration and check-in.
- All contestants must pay entry fee and complete a waiver for the event.
- Proceeds benefit the Crystal Mountain Volunteer Ski Patrol.
- There are 100 spots available for participants.
- Ski poles are not permitted while skiing though the pond.
- Over the top yet tastefully designed costumes are highly encouraged.
- No group efforts. Singles only.
- Participants must remain in control at all times!
- Only one run per skimmer.
Please note all participants must have a valid pass or day lift ticket, complete Crystal Mountain Events Waiver and register with event hosts on the day of the event in order to compete.

Entry: Pond Skim Admission ticket includes entry for one (1) athlete. Must be 21+ to compete. Must complete event waiver. Athlete must check-in on race day by 10:30am or they forfeit spot to the next athlete on the waitlist.
Refunds: You may request to cancel your ticket for a full refund, up to 30 days before the date of the event. Cancellation requests made within 30 days of the event will not receive a refund yet can be transferred to another individual. When you register for the event, you agree to these terms.
