This year we are proud to feature Stephen Klein on the euphonium performing "Nessun Dorma" by Giacomo Puccini that was also arranged by Stephen Klein, and a flute duet featuring Debby McDonald and Jasenia Morningstar on "Sparkling Flutes" by Richard Comello. The band will perform several pieces showcasing sections from the band. The french horn section will be featured in "Silverado" by Bruce Broughton from the soundtrack of the movie. The clarinet section will shine in "Italian Polka" by Sergei Rachmaninoff arranged by Elena Roussanova Lucas. "The Summit" by John Moss will highlight the Trumpet section, and "Them Basses" by Getty H. Huffine features all the low brass and woodwinds.
The band will also display the musical composition and arranging skills of our members with "Castle of the Crow King" composed by Miyoshi Feliciano, a member of our trumpet section, and the "Grand Chorus in March-form, Op. 84" by Alexandre Guilmant that was arranged by Stephen Klein. Our band members include conductors from other groups that will step up to the podium as guest conductors of the band. "The Cave You Fear" by Markowski will be conducted by bassoonist Carly Miller, who is the band teacher at Day Creek Intermediate, Golden Elementary, and Lightfoot Elementary in Rancho Cucamonga, and "Prairie Dances" by David Holsinger will be conducted by tenor saxophonist P.T. Arnold, who is the new director of the Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band and a retired high school band director from the Chaffey Joint Union High School District.
